Saving Lives: Understanding Suicide and Depression Currently offering presentations on suicide and depression, what they are and how to recognize it, as well as what to do when you encounter someone that is suicidal or depressed. IOOV is a presentation by consumers that creates awareness about what is involved in recovery from mental illness.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training will be held the week of Dec. 6-10, 2010 at Camden Falls, 2460 S. SR 231, Tiffin. NAMI Family to Family Class Announced NAMI of Seneca, Sandusky, and Wyandot Counties (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering the Family to Family program, a free education course to help family members learn about mental illness, treatment, & recovery. The Family to Family course will be held at Pontifex, 416 W. State St., Fremont on 12 consecutive Wednesdays from 6:30-9:00 p.m. starting Sept. 8, 2010. The course is taught by trained family members. All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Over 115,000 family members have graduated from this national program. It is open to any family member, caregiver, or provider. This class has been a consistent force in helping families to understand the clinical treatment of brain disorders and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. It lets them know more about what their loved ones face in a way that is non-judgmental, factual, and yet encouraging. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required.
